A Family's Saga

Welcome cousins! For the past fifteen years I have been researching our family tree and gathering information about our grandparents and their ancestors. Their lives were often fraught with hardship, but they were strong, vital people. How bravely they sailed across oceans, journeyed across mountains, and kept rolling their heavy wagons westward until they finally settled near Jacksonville, Texas in beautiful, verdant Cherokee County.

Sadly, however, each passing generation takes with it a wealth of wonderful stories and memories that are too soon forgotten. So many of our beloved family--parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents--are gone from our lives, but not from our hearts. Those of us who remember them need to honor their lives by sharing their stories and photographs with future generations.

I hope you will join me in building a permanent record of our family's history for all of us to enjoy. I want our children to know who their ancestors were--not just their names and dates of birth--but to know them as real people: funny, cranky, optimistic, hard-headed, intelligent, skilled--whatever attibutes apply. Together we can leave our children a beautiful legacy of two true Texas families who helped to build a great state and a great nation.
